It is a little longer than the typical transfer board and the sliding round seat makes a world of difference in moving from the wheel chair to every other place a wheelchair person has to move to. It may be somewhat expensive; but, It is well worth having when the patient can't put weight in his feet to stand. It is so much easier for both the patient and the care giver. Don't be concerned about the strength and quality. It is extremely well made of strong PVC.I was the receiver a 120 mile per hour, head-on collision, which most can't believe I survived. I sustained 9 broken ribs, two of which punctured my lung, broken right ankle, muscle damage to my left leg, neck trauma, brain concussion, and massive breakage of my entire pelvis region. My entire pelvis region is now and forever more being held together with a 12 inch long, steel bolt, steel plates and 26 steel screws! It has been 3 months since the person crossed the center line and plowed into my pick-up and Doctors say it could very well be another month or so before I can even begin to put any weight on either of my feet. With the use of this amazing transfer board, I am able, with some help from my life mate, transfer from my wheelchair to anyplace I need to be. It's great for all transfers including into and out of the car.Remember, the transfer surfaces need to be within 3 inches of each other for best results. This is well worth the cost!Rodger Morales Lake Havasu City, Az.
